Snakebite 358 mold order being put together
« on: March 28, 2004, 07:47:56 AM »
A pard, Ruff Justice, is coordinating the purchase of the .358 Snakebite 6 cavity mold from Lee. We need 25 pards to commit to the order. I believe the cost is approximately $50 each plus another $18 for handles, if you need them. This is an incredible mold. It casts a longer bullet which allows feeding of 38 special ammo in any 357 rifle with no problems. It has one very large lub groove which makes it hold about twice as much lube as most 357 bullets do so black powder shooters love it as it enables them to shoot all day without cleaning between stages. I am currently testing it in my AWA Lightning 38 special and have found it is the best bullet yet that I have tried in this rifle. I will post a full report in a couple of days. If you own a 38 Lightning then this is the bullet you will want to shoot in it.
Here is the info you will need to provide in order to be included in the group purchase:

Robert:
The loaded length in a 38 case is 1.505 and the weight is about 160 grains.  Its a Round nose flat point bullet shape except its longer with a smaller flat point than most.  It has one wide and deep lube groove which hold enough lube to make it out the barrel thus reducing fouling to near zero.  The bullet is regular base and flat.  The bands on each side of the lube groove are wide and the bullet is very stable and shoots very accurately.  Snakebite says that he has never seen a 357 rifle that this bullet doe not feed well in.
Hope this helps.
