help with recalcitrant safety s&w 469
« on: March 28, 2004, 05:15:58 PM »
I have a pristine s&w 469...NRA 95%,BUT the goofy phillips head screw in the decocker will not stay tight...I have degreased it w/ acetone/ denatured alcohol...then used loctite green/red/blue ...hold for about a dozen decokings...then it is loose again...the threads on both the screw are good as are the threads in the safety body...anyone know if the third gen s&w safety/decockers will interchange?..third gen decockers havea pin hole instead of a goofy phillips screw...a wire in the pin hole depresses a check ball for disassembly..any help or ideas greatly appreciated....Eddie :-D  :D

Eddie:  Is there room in the de-cocker to drill a hole thru it and the screw to put a pin in it ?  Get ahold of me and we will tackle it and see what we can come up with, some how I have my doubts about the philips head screw being the original screw most manu. dont use philips head screws but anything is posible.  As always :D    JIM
