Well I just got me a new Ruger #1v 220 Swift.  I haven't shot it yet but I think I will want to get the trigger re-worked down to about 1 1/2 to 2 pounds. Any suggestions??

I this the right place for Ruger #1 talk or is it the ruger forum??
Happy shooting, may you hit what you aim at.

Dick this is a good place to talk about your #1. There are a lot of #1 owners that hang out here and will be happy to share your interest in all aspects of single shot rifles.  What a classic ! Ruger #1 V in 220 Swift. I envy you. Thanks for posting here. Best of luck. POW

There are quite a few gunsmiths that work on Ruger triggers, but I'm not sure you will get the factory trigger down to 1.5 lbs.  If you don't mind purchasing an aftermarket trigger, the Kepplinger seems to be ideal for the rifle you have.  I have one on a No.1 S and it is incredible.  Spendy, but you can get a good 2 lb break on it, then push it forward to the "set" position for a pull measured in ounces.

I had a Moyers after-market trigger put on my Ruger 1V and it works pretty good.

They are, I'm sure, available from MidwayUSA or direct from Moyers at:

Moyers Gun Repair
2370 Sunset Strip
Mountain Home, Idaho 83647

Midway, I think, is cheaper than direct from Moyers, although he will do the installation for you for $10 (with, of course, shipping both ways extra).

8)   I second the motion to get a Moyers trigger.  Not only will he install it for you, he will adjust creep and weight to your liking.  My trigger on my I V is 2.5 lbs and creep free.

These guns are real tack drivers.  Mine is so good I put a scope on it that cost almost twice as much as the gun.
