Hey guys don't know if you know it or not, but just picked up a Mossberg 2004 catalog and they are offering an encore like single shot rifle!

I think they came out last year not sure.Nice gun but to pricy for me.Guns start at about 500$ extra barrels at 240$.I just don't think you can beat NEF/H&R,even if you have to send back your action for every different barrel.Just my 2cent worth*******ogo

I'll stick with my TC, as it is less money, and I don't have to ship it anywhere to add barrels!

If you're talking about the SSI one, it has been out about 5 years. There is talk of discontinuing it too.

I have an ssi with 2 barrels and don't ship it anywere to change them.
Also have an Encore with 6 barrels.

I have an SSI 1 in 06 and it shoots great, just wish I could find extra barrels without having to go back to Mossberg for them. I want a 308 barrel and maybe a 12 Rifled Slug barrel. Great gun once I polished the trigger and sear. I also have numerous barrels for my Encore rifle and pistol.

The NEF does have to be shipped to first get the new barrel, but not to interchange them afterwards. There is some misconception about that small fact.

My feelings are that Marlin/NEF will change that in the not too distant future. It may require introducing an SB-3 receiver but I think they are headed that way. Many new SB-2 owners can easily exchange barrels already (NOT with NEF's blessing though)

ther not to bad i have a few left in stock at dicks an were selling them for i think 250 only have 30-06 left though
if they drop in price some more ill buy one or two

I may pick one up -the H&R is a better deal- if you live in the US- the barrel exchange is only available to US residents.That makes the Mossberg a better deal for additional barrels
