Anyone using fiberoptic sights on handgun length barrels?
« on: March 31, 2004, 10:25:21 AM »
Fellas, I've got a 10" full bull barrel from Bullberry in .17 Ackley Hornet. I want to put a set of fiber optic or day-glow sights on it. It measures .800 on each end. Do you  know anyone who has these? ( I tried to contact Ed's contenders but his e-mail bounced back.)
Will it require the same sights as a super14 barrel since it is untapered?

Thanks, Bill

of my T/C barrels I need some color to see the front sight correctly and these work great in that aspect. but just front sights are impossible to find everybody just wants to sell sets. I don't need any reat sights I just need the front. If you find a place to get some fronts that will fit a contender please let me know. Right now all I can find is fiber optic fronts is for my airguns (another hobbie of mine) thanks

I know TC puts them on their muzzle loaders including the Encore and I would assume on the new .45 Contender barrels.  They should have some. If I can find the ones I took off my Encore, I'll check for fit and height and report back.  GOOD SHOOTIN',  Walt :-D  :-D

I didn't realize williams made the fiber optic type, I had looked to tru glo, TCarms,Brownells, and Midsouth and came up empty so far. I think I'll get the mounting screw dimensions and see what Williams can do for me.

thanks again, Bill :agree:

front AND rear sight when all I needed was a front in fiber optic. The rear sight on my guns works just fine I just wanted the bright fiber optic's on the front sight so I could see them better. Anything new on that front?
Even from williams?

I purchased a fiber rear sight for my .45 Win Mag. The front sight on this barrell was silver soldered on, so I used it to build one by grinding down the original front sight, cutting a groove in the top, drilling small holes in the top of the sight to take small twisted wires, putting a piece of fiber into the wires and epoxying it in. It works well.
