Attension....Congress passes new gun law.
« on: April 01, 2004, 10:21:00 AM »
Attention!!!  I just received this urgent e-mail notice from the NRA.

Congress has just signed a new bill into law banning all repeating firearms effective july 1st 2004!
Under this new law only single shot rifles and shotguns can be legally manufactured, imported and sold in the United States.

You know what this is going to do to the cost and availability of our favorite rifles and shotguns!!!

This totally sucks. I can't believe they can do it. For whatever its worth, even all the calling and contacting we do, they just continue scratching each others backs and passing whatever they want when they want. Its a shame. I think the urgent message was somewhat vague and would like to have a breakdown into what firearms they considered banned! Is bolt actions included? How about pumps? etc..........

I don't buy it.  A law that strict doesn't pop up all of a sudden.  It would be all over the media if it were fact.

I'd be shocked if the NRA let this one pass unnoticed.  There was a mention a while back of the extension of the "assault weapons" ban having something like this in it. that the Commiecrats had added.  Could this be what it is referring too?  If it is real.

I thought I might get a few of you to bite,

In all seriousness what Marv posted is the honest truth.  I hope that every one of you will get out and vote. And not just for the Presidential election but also every local election as well.  Think about it. Where do congressmen come from?... They are former local politicians that have hit the big time.  Who is it  teaching our kids that hunting and guns are bad?...  The people who get elected to the local school board.  Who determines how difficult it will be to get your next purchase permit or carry licence?...  The local elected sherif.

Happy April Fools to everyone.  Remember we do have a say in whether or not my joke becomes a reality.

handirifle, the bill you are thinking of was for a law that would protect gun manufacturers from nuisance law suits designed to bankrupt the industry.  The 'poison pills' that the "Commiecrats" tried to tag onto it were a total ban on gun shows and an addition to the list of banned "assault weapons".
The NRA wisely told them to shove it. :bird:

I would like to know to know something... If the "Commiecrats" think that it is acceptable to sue Ruger or S&W, etc because a stolen gun was used to shoot someone during a robbery would it be okay for me to sue Mercadies Benz, RCA Records and Bose because some bonehead in a Benz rear ended me at a stop light because he was fiddling with his CD player instead of watching were he was going.  :?:

They cannot use REAL statistics to back up their claims otherwise we could hammer them with the truth and they know it.

Brett: that was a good one.  I too was getting excited till I spotted the little devil down at the bottom.  We had a DJ here in Fairbanks get into a lot of trouble yesterday, and was pulled off the air.  He made an announcement that dihydrogen monoxide had been found in several schools and homes in the city Fairbanks.  It had fallen to the ground overnight and the kids were tracking it into schools and homes.  Some parents panicked and did not hear the April Fools part and called the Mayor's office.  Some women were in tears thinking their children were sick due to some kind of toxic substance in the schools, or their homes.  The mayor's office called the university to find out if breathing dihydrogen monoxide could be fatel, the answer was yes.  They hung up before finding out what the substance was.  When they were ready to evacuate the schools a science teacher stopped everything by telling them it was only WATER!  It had snowed Wednesday night.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

This one is almost as good as the news release in Britain of old previously classified papers.  It seems that the Army was planning to use chickens to cover plutonium land mines in Germany during the Cold War so that they wouldn't freeze in the terrible German winters.  It seems that an average chicken develops 1000 BTU/hour, sufficient to do the job.  Cheeply :-D
