Thats me right now! It's the weekend and it's gorgeous where I am......but I'm stuck inside being a caregiver and can't get out to shoot...so.....[in my best R.Lee Ermey voice] I want everyone else to get out and do some banging and write about it on here!! Lets go guys (and gals) get it together and lets get something going here!! Hubba-Hubba! Double time it!! I'll be waiting for some reports...and there better be some good lengthy ones!! Lets get with it!!

I hit a road-goat (deer) in my patrol car last night, and had to put it down. Does that count?

Local sheriff some years back had an iron clad policy that any damage to a patrol car was preventable, the officer's fault, and cost three days pay. A friend was coming down an icy hill in the worst possible and saw a cow in the middle of the road. Pete tapped the brakes, fought the skid, slid all the way down the hill, wound up stopped broadside, just touching the cow.

No damage done.

The cow then kicked an enormous dent in the rear fender.

Three days pay.

I drive a 24' bobtail truck and make deliveries all over the state of Okla. I have yet to find any season dates or restrictions on road kill so I aim at and speed up for all edible game with the exception of 'possum. Guess I really am an Okie hick huh? Shoot I'm even thinking about trying out a couple them crow recipes somebody posted about over on the shotgun forum.

Vick, When you said you "...had to put it down" did you mean the deer or the patrol car :?: I know those deer can do a lot of damage to a vehicle. :grin:

Deadeye47 you think you had it rough, I got roped into accompanying my wife and 4 year old daughter on a shopping excursion to the mall today!! :cry: You could tell by the #$#@#$ idiot drivers out today that the full moon is only a couple of days off. Well at least I did get to pick up a couple of goodies for my mountain bike.

Brett you are a brave man! I not only "don't do Malls" but to have to go on a Saturday and a few days before a full moon....I'd have to be in leg chains,handcuffs,blindfolded and a gun held to my back!! :roll:

My daughter and I went to my bike dealer's open house yesterday morning where she found a pair of boots for half price, then she informed me she needed a birthday present for a friend, from the mall. On the way home we stopped to see a friend's dad. He still rides his motorcycle, but has it up for sale. It is inspirational to see people in their late 70s still going strong. Today I have to cut grass to make up for playing yesterday.

Sorry it has taken so long to get back. It has definately been a FULL moon weekend. I wasn't injured, but my car was. No real metal damage, but took every bit of plastic off the passenger side front. Thankfully my Captain is rather understanding when it comes to deer ( but low and behold the S%&! storm if you wreck one any other way). No, I don't plan on having it mounted, but I did recover the .40 Gold Dot bullet on the other side. Pretty neat.

Hey cool...can ya show a picture of that .40 Gold Dot? Thats what I carried too...I've never seen one that went thru tissue before...does it do what it's suppose to do?? I did a test one time on some hydro-shoks ...I soaked TWO yellow pages (about 4 in total) in water and from the top of my deck ( I used to live in the country fellas don't get excited! :shock: ) I shot down about 7 feet to the book( I carried a .40 Beretta Centurian)..it went thru the books and into the ground about 4-1/2 to 5 inches...I excavated it out and it was the most perfect mushroom you could imagine...the little post was still sticking straight up which is amazing in itself considering what it went thru and into the ground! The new processes they use now for controlled expansion is really something! Just wondering about the Gold Dots if they performed as advertised.. :?: Course no complaint from the deer I presume about it not performing.... :wink:
