Have any of you tried the below listed ammo? If so what is your evaluation? TIA

I've used Kent's in the past and was NOT impressed with them. They are cheap though so trying a box might be worth the $5-$7 if you don't have something that works. I really like the Winchester Supreme Turkey loads.

Thanks for your thoughts & observations. I'm going to Sportco® tomorrow and will look at the Winchester Supremes®.

One of these days I'll get around to posting my results between the Win. Supremes and Hevishot loads I shot recently. Basically they shot the same in every choke and distance but since the Hevishot is 3x expensive I'll just use the Winchester ammo.

A wise move to say the least; would be terrible to have to switch to a bow because you couldn't afford the ammo.

BTW; are you using 3" or 3½" ammo?

I understand that HeviShot is significantly more expensive than lead but really, how much are you guys shooting?  I bought a box of 10, patterned then through my 870, killed 2 turkeys, and still have enough left to kill 5 turkeys.

I'm using 3" shells.

I keep playing around with my gun so I'm shooting a lot. I've probalby shot 10 shells this spring already and will probably shoot at least another 10. Just polished my barrel a couple days ago and need to go back out and pattern it again. Plus I just made up some new targets I need to try out.

How did you do the barrel polish job; I'm thinking of doing the same to a gun with lengthened forcing cones.

Is hevishot really any better than lead? After all it was primarily designed as a replacement for steel shot in an attempt to equal the energy levels of lead in a non toxic material. As I understand it also patterns similar but better than steel with both requiring a more open choke.   The biggest advantage I can see is that it will hold a tighter pattern with less choke but as with steel too much choke (eg. full or turkey choke will likely destroy the pattern). Remember hevishot is harder than steel.
Just another worthless opinion!!

Hevishot is slightly denser than lead so energy should be about the same. From what I've observed they load the Hevishot a little lighter so it flies faster, thus giving more energy. Since it's not as soft as lead it should hold it's pattern better. It was a little better but at the price it's too expensive for me since I can get the same pattern from shells costing 1/3 as much. Since the energy is basically the same I probalby won't try them again unless I have too much money to just throw away chasing after that additional 5 yards of killing range.
