What cartridge designation?

22 carbine takes in a lot of cartridges!

you will surely be safe using 30 carbine loading data.  You can prolly factor an additional 100'/sec for the reduced neck size, maybe even a bit more since you're going down to 22 cal from 30, and then add in another 100'/sec or so for bullet weight reduction.  If you're shooting a 40 - 50 gn bullet from that conversion you have dropped at least 50% of the bullet weight of the normal carbine load, and that adds to the velocity.  HTH. Mikey.

This sounds like it might be the same as the 5.56 MMJ, a 30 carbine necked to 22 cal by Melvin Johnson some years ago.  Data for it should be found in Cartridges of the World, any recent edition.  HTH.

WARNING!!!!
there are many differences in the chambers of the 22 spitfire/5.7 MMJ and the 22carbine,even though they are the same thing. Start low and work up in very small steps. You may want to get an extra operating rod to replace the one you bend trying to get to Khornet speeds! Your gun may well pass the K hornet safely while others won't. Cases are not real difficult to make,BUT are a B****h to find in the grass. Especially when the gun kicks them way over there! Many chambers are small enough that neck turning is MANDATORY.  I had a little brass "director" that attached to the gun and sent the ejected brass straight down. I still had lost brass though.
    I used 10.6 grains of2400 cci400 primer and 45 Speer or
11.7/2400/ cci400/40Speer.      these are NOT loads to start with!
   Hope it helps,  jh
