outers foul out

any body use the outers foul out to remove copper? need pros and cons on this product.  thank you.

I have had one for quite a few years now and use it quite a bit. Mostly use it for cleaning others guns but now and then on my own. It is the only way that I have found to get 100% of the copper fouling out of a bbl. I have had guys bring me a rifle and claim they spent many hours and gallons of cleaner on it so it must be clean only to find some more copper in it with the foul out. The drawbacks are that it is a slow prossess (8+ hours) at times, and kinda messy. Finding the large containers of fluid can be a problem at times also.  The lead out works much faster and equally well for getting that last bit of lead out of a bbl. expecially on 22's.

I have a Foul Out II that I use on "clean" handguns. Try to run every gun through an overnighter once a year. I was truly amazed at how much lead came out of a “clean” barrel. Only down side is the fluids can get pricey, it can turn into a major mess if one of the plugs let go. Up side is that if you want a CLEAN barrel use a Foul Out. There is clean then there is Foul Out CLEAN. I know of at least one custom lead bullet maker that recommends using a Foul Out to clean a barrel in preparation for fire lapping. In all truth though most shooters don’t need this thing. I got mine as a Father’s Day gift and use it since I have it.

I have one and I am quite impresses at how much copper it gets out even after cleaning with patches and solvent. I use to think that my barrel was clean until I got the Outters Foul Out. On really fouled barrels you may have to clean the rod using fine sand paper to get the copper deposits off after about a hour of cleaning. It takes some time but I think that its worth it.
