Military "MRE" replacements??
« on: April 05, 2004, 08:49:41 PM »
I've been informed that you can no longer purchase military 'MRE's any longer.

If this is true, does any one know of a suitable quality replacement?

They work really great when hunting.  I just throw a couple into my day pack and I'm off and have a great hot meal at noon or at dinner time.

I need some help on this and also a website where to get them.

Thanks

Where did you hear that from?

With are troups deployed in 2 countries and feeding the people of those contries, the stuff may be getting in short supply for commercial sales. But if you look around its still available.

I know this is a little late, but from what I have heard, MILITARY MREs are no longer available for general sale. This was due to the increase in the governments need because of the war. Now, I also heard that the same company that makes them for the government is going to make, or may already have started, a seperate kind for cicilian sales. A separate production line is supposed to be set up. The contennts are the same, the packaging just may be differant. I BELIEVE I read this in a magazine a year or so back, but I can't recall for sure. I may have seen it on another BBS on the internet. So it may be right, or it may be wrong, but there it is.
