savag ml10 and cast bullets

has anyone here used cast bullets in a savage? if 250 and 300 grain jacketed work well with sabots, why not cast?  any help randy?

No reason at all you can't use cast lead in your sabots-- swaged, pure lead Dead Centers work well, so no reason a cast .45 bullet won't do the same.

I was intrigued by this author's use of cast slugs. He is using a 335 grain slug, it is described as "hardened" lead.
One of these days I am going to send off to Cabelas for a box of these Cast Performance slugs and give them a try. As the author says, ought to do the job on any animal on the North American continent.
