I'm really thinking about getting a barrel for my Encore in 300 win mag or 300 win short mag. Anyone have any luck with those two in the Encore? Pros-Cons I would like to hear from all of you.  :D

I keep hearing the case head size on the WSM is too large for the Encore too handle at that preesure, not enough metal left for the barrel support it.  I have seen offered so who knows.  Same thing with the Rem SAUM's.

Got a factory 26" heavy 300 win mag in SS.  Used it for elk and deer this years and love it.. I bought a 300 wsm from Bullberry but he makes them with tight neck and short throat.  Going to have throat changed as soon I I figure what bullet to use. I reloaded some Speer 165 gr. ( 20 thousands of lands) and started showing some pressure signs at 2 grs. below max.   Trying to find factory dementions on throating.  I think VVCG  wsm barrels have deep throat.

:-) One of the best barrels made for the Encore-nothing but power and killing what's on the other end. I handloaded some 150 gr Ballistic tip for mine-zeroed at 175 yds-killed a buck at 273 yds 3 days later-dead on hit. Great gun for an animal.I have e mailed  T/C twice in the last 6 moths about the WSM's. They have no plans to manufacture 1 at this time.
