   I was just watching an old video tape concerning the Spanish Conquistadors, swords in hand, exploring new lands.
   Now old Zapatero is calling his troops to come slinking home.
  Perhaps these hapless soldiers will be refered to as Con"quit"adores!
     I feel sorry for those soldiers, that they must be led by a idiot "commander-in-chief"...
  Let's hope the same doesn't happen here!

It was on the news today that the Spanish troops were taking fire and fighting bravely in Iraq. If only there candya$$ leaders were so brave!
The bombs are still going off in Spain, so saying that there pulling out has not helped a bit.
This is proof that you cant negotiate with these extremist. Just like a school yard bully you give an inch and they see only weakness, and opportunity.  Spanish Pride has been neutered by its own politicians! thay have folded in the face of a snot nosed bully.

   In one of your posts, you excoriate the Jews for "what they did to Palestine".
   Wake up! What has happened to Palestine has been done by the Palestinians!
  They have had their land nearly as long as the Jews have been back to back into their own rightful homeland.
   In this period of time, the Jews have built a "land of milk and honey", in spite of constant terrorism coming from the savages.
   Today when I see travel films, news accounts and literature covering the mid east, I see Israel that has built a prosperous, free, democratic country that elects new leaders periodically.
   There is much manufacturing, amazing agriculture and great scientific contributions in medicine, space and many other fields.
   The Israelis are generally, hard working, educated, diligent and have made a run-down piece of wasteland bloom with fertile fields, orange groves and great building projects.
   Now let's look at Palestine:
   When we see pictures of Palestine, it is a run down rubble, streets strewn with rubble....yes , Israeli retalitory strikes cause some of the rubble, just as Palestinian terrorism causes rubble in Israel...
   The chief difference being; the Israelis clean the rubble up!
   Do the Palestinians have orange groves? Have they contributed to medicine, space, freedom and democracy?
  Perhaps the news agencies have it all wrong, but videos show Israeli citizens busy, going to school and work and doing constructive things in general.
    We see Palestine...people either loitering or rioting about the streets, seemingly not working OR going to school!
   Please; name just one positive scientific or cultural breakthrough that has come out of Palestine since 1948!!!
  The Palestinians have great opportunities for development. For instance; they could have a great tourism industry if someone would rather work than fight!
   Their whole backwardness is exhibited by their continued patience with that old terrorist, old "Liver Lips" Arafat!

   It does appear that you may hail from either Germany or France..

   I spent , as many other Americans did , 2&1/2 years nearly on the border of those two countries...keeping the Bear off their backs...

   I also hasten to rmind you that it was your own culturally superior Euro countries that denounced Saddam Hussein in the U.N. That was an interesting post crossbow-Thanx for the perspective from across the pond.
We should, I think, reflect on his thoughts. that is if we want to be a part of a global community. NOT that I necessarily agree with all the thoughts, but it is good to get another perspective. Sometimes we believe everything we think, and that is not necessarly a wise thing.

Lest we get caught up in this old if it were not for the USA thing again we must remember there were a lot of different folks involved. First, Hey Crossbow, when you become Spanish you can speak for the Spanish people, until then , shut up,and yes I am, check the last name.Second it is not that the Spanish people or the Army of Spain are cowards, it is their elected government that is. I have it on good authority that over 1000 Spanish troops stayed in Iraq as "advisors" with the Italian Army, the reason I know this, my cousin, Major Miguel Rodriguez is one of them.As for this new Prime Minister, he should remember what Franco did to King Juan Carlos's Grand Father.

Nobody here disses the individual Spaniard, but the politicians are fair game.  

Now, since the al-quida have gone and murdered that little South Korean fellow I am hoping the ghosts of the South Korean's First Infantry of the Vietnam 'experience' will stack their arms and draw bayonets to go into that enclave of islamic extremism and show them that what they sow is what they reap.  In my days in RVN, I had the pleasure of knowing some of the South Korean Infantry and later served along side them on the Korean DMZ.  Some of those boys once stacked their rifles outside a cave loaded with VC and went in with bayonets and finished the job, and they all came back out.  

I'm all for an 'eye for an eye', and don't see why we don't give it back to them the way they want to give it to us.  I don't have a lot of faith in the islamic's thoughts on securing the middle east or in bringing islamic criminals to justice and am just waiting to see what happens when the iraqis get their 'home rule' back.  I am hoping that somewhere in the agreement to return rule to iraq is the clause that if they don't do it right this time, we get to finish the job.  Just my two cents worth here friend but I am getting tired of this troll too.  Mikey.
