I would probably choose between the 445 supermag and the DW460. The first because it is as close to a 454 as DW makes, and the latter because it is just kind of unique, and I will be loading 45WM anyhow.

This is just pie-in-the-sky thinking about a new pistol, but we know where these things end up ;)

They list it under their "Large Frame Revolvers". How strong are these? And have they improved the cylinder latch from years ago?

yes it is the large frame and i love mine cheap 45 acp up to expencive

45 win mag  :shock:  unless u reload :D
third eye blinds the other two.

Can you take a 45 colt or 454 Casull, trim it and make your own 45 autorim magnums? Within sane limits, of course.

Just for your info the 455, 505 and the 610 supermags never made it to production.

ScottB.  Nix on the trimmed Colt cases in place of the auto rim.  Auto rims have a MUCH thicker rim.  It is thick enough to be equivilent to a regular ACP rim and the thickness of a half moon clip added together.  If a firing pin were accidently long enough to fire the primer (unlikely), using a Colt case would create excess headspace and have a high likelihood of a casehead blowout.
