Opinions about Uberti revolvers?

Planning to buy a Bisley or similar. Uberti looks like the real thing, Ruger Bisley Vaquero does not. Rugers are strongly built and reliable - I own a couple - and quality is important. Any comments about the Uberti?

You are right the two are very different from each other.  I have not found the Colt or clone Bisley to be comfortable to shoot in competition.  The design lends itself to that peculiar grip with a crooked elbow and the wrist bent, the gun brought up level with the eye.  Recoil would be a real bummer!  :wink:

I have had a few pairs of the Rugers and I feel the Bisley grip is excellent for duelist shooters or small hands that want to use both of them.  Big hands tend to not have great success.  Still, just my experience and observations.  

I don't know, but perhaps you can buy a bisley grip frame and try it out on a clone.  I know you can swap out Thunderer grips on a model P.

No the clone bisely grips will not interchange to the standard frame it is dimensionally different I have one of each and I do find the Clone Bisely to be quite comfortable.... it is even more natural to point that way that is why it looks all goofy like it does. The ruger is more of just a larger grip it doesn't really change the angle.

It may be just my thinkin' but seems ta me the Colt Bisley was the first custom bullseye hand gun from a factory. Call it a "Race Gun" if you will. The clones are as close as yer gonna' get to the original. Rooger clones (Bisley) ain't close but they do have a handle different than SAA stile. If'n it fits ware it!
