Mikey, you sure have my sympathy.  How's your Congressman?

What we have here in Washington (Patty Murray) is just about as bad as what you have, but I'm not too sure about our junior senator.  I sent her an e-mail to see what her position is on guns--no answer yet.  I think my Congressman is anti-gun, but he keeps it kind of quiet, because there are a lot of guns in his district.

Well, I just checked my e-mail and sure enough there is an answer from Maria Cantwell, our junior senator.  She says that she supports the right to keep and bear arms, but she also believes in strict enforcement of sensible gun laws.  She is a Democrat, so I don't know if I can trust her.

I don't know how hard she would fight to defend the Second Amendment, but I guess her answer is better than a flat out condemnation of guns.  I should e-mail Patty and see what kind of answer I get from her.  She's one of those who wanted to impose a ten cents per bullet tax.

magooch - Happy to say that my Congressman is a fightin' Irishman, or so it seems in the political circles but he may also be politically correct - haven't really heard from him yet on any of the gun issues.  He's been busy campaigning for GWB, thank goodness.

From what I have heard of Cantwell, she is a democrat and trusting her to defend your 2nd Amendment rights would sound like a long shot, but your Patty Murray is a handholder with schumer, klinton, feinstein and lauten and a member of the opposite order.  Sorry to hear about your poor representation.  Mikey.

Big Medicine - dang, I've been thinkin' about it but I'm just afraid they would foller me and there simply ain't no way I would wanna foist those two mothers on anyone else.  Gonna have to deal with'em here.  I'm hoping we can talk Rudy Guilliani into running for schumer's seat.  If he does that he will take schumer out and then herr frau klinton is next.  But, even if Rudy becomes a Republican Senator let's not forget that he is a former NYC cop and mayor and is not any real advocate of the 2nd amendment.  However, I don't think he would cross party lines if he sees there is a responsible way to deal with these issues that won't upset his (northern NY) constituency, hopefully.  Mikey.

The folks in Wa. state are no better off than the folks in NY. Our Senators are useless.

With a couple of exceptions like John McCain, they all pretty much tell you what you want to hear, then go on to in the direction of what motivates them.
