you'll like your 243. i just loaded up bunch of round noses and some boattails for mine, and i'll be off to the range saturday morning.

it'll be worth the wait.

hey scatter,
im going to go to the range with mine today also.
i got some factory remington 100 grainers to try it out with.
i got a set of dies on order at cabela's now.
i also got components here waiting for the dies to arive.
wonder how would  a 95 grain balistic tip with 40 grains of h4350 do?
i have heard from several on here that these guns dont particularly like the heavier bullets i hope that is not the case with mine cause i mainly want to hunt deer with it.

If your gun doesn't like the 95gr BT, you might try something with a flat base, maybe a Hornady Interlock 87gr spire point, 100gr round nose, or possibly 100gr spire point, but the 100grSP might be every bit as long as a 95grBT.

had a good shoot today.
i first tried the .243 with 100sp at 25yrds rested against a tree. first shot dead center of the bullseye i thought wow!! so i went to our bench to shoot paper plates at 156yrds. couldnt find a bullet hole in a 4x8 sheet of plywood. had a plate out at 350yrds so i shot at it. hit abt 15yrds behind it and abt 5 ft to the left. so i dialed in some and went back to the 156yd mark. finally dialed in at that range then held over abt three ft to hit the 350yd plate. finally held over abt 5ft and hit three shots into a 2x3 posterboard at 525yds. not to shabby for a scope that wasnt zeroed or boresighted before hand. but.... i put three bullets into the center of the 156yd plate, hit within 6inches  of the 350yd plate and hit 4 out of 4 at the 525yd poster board with my buffalo classic 45-70 using a creedmore tangsight and 405grain rem. jsp bullets over 38.5 grains of imr3031 powder. so i hope that after some more work with the .243 and that scope that i can make it at least outshoot my old buffgun.
more on all this later
