Mueller 8.5-25x50 or elite 4200 6-24x40?

Is the elite 4200 worth the extra money and is the 1/4 dot in the elite too big for long range varmints? Thanks

These 2 scopes have totatly different features and benifits so I think you will have to look at what is most important to you and what features most fit your needs. The Mueller Eraticator Cross Hair is micro-fine and the dot itself illuminates for low light shooting. As far as the size of the dot on the Eraticator, it won't even cover a silver dollar on 25 power at 250yds which is great for small targets such as Prairie Dogs or Rats (hense the word ERATICATOR).

I have never tested any of the Mueller scopes, so I can't compare it to any other scope.  However, I own several Elite scopes, both 4200 and 3200, and I am extremely pleased with them.  I don't own any of the super-high power Elite scopes since I don't varmint hunt, but the optics and quality are the same - excellent.
