Lyman vs RCBS dies

About to buy dies for my Pedersoli .45-120.

Why are the RBCS dies so much more expensive? Midway has the Lyman 'M' 3 die set for $39.99. The RCBS 3 die set is over $230.

What is the technical difference, and if there is one, is it worth so much more money?

:-) I am using the RCBS.......no problems yet and the ammo seems to do better than I can most of the time.stay safe..King

I mostly use RCBS dies because that's what I started with. I have started buying Hornady dies--I like the design, workmanship and price a lot better. Earlier this year when I needed a set of custom dies for a wildcat cartridge RCBS would not do it! Hornady did a beautiful job quickly and reasonably. On my 45-90 I quit using My RCBS set and put a spacer on my Hornady set because they work better. When you talk to the Hornady people they are very helpful and polite. I support good customer service.

I've used RCBS dies for many years and always had good luck and service with them. When I got the BPCR bug and bought my first Sharps I started looking for dies for it (45-120). I went to get a set from RCBS & found that they wanted $181.00 for them. I was a bit shocked at the price since a set of 45-70 dies were under $30 and there not that much difference in them. I shopped around a little and found a set from Redding cost about $106. I was about to order them when I was looking through cabalas shooting catalog and found that Lyman had at that time had a obsolete line of dies on sale for $26.95. I've had Lyman dies before and had good luck with them so I ordered them. I've loaded several hundred rounds with  no problems. I've since ordered about all of there obsolete dies.
