Just received my 22'' ss bull bbl. everything looks good , finish nice matte stainless, scope holes look fine , already mounted a scope on it , very tight clearance when shut, I was a little skeptical after hearing many quality problems but they did a good job on this one I'll get back to all when I see how it shoots.

I went with a 7-30 waters, anybody have any experience with this cal. as far as bullets, I no alot has been said , I want to use one ballistic tip for woodchucks and deer and from what I have heard its possible the 120 gr. won't penetrate enough on deer , so then I would have to go with the 140 gr. and thats a little big for varmits- decisions !! I even heard of a ranch that wouldn't allow the 7-30 with 120gr. as they claimed they lost to much game , hard to believe, and I probably shouldn't let one thread persuade me , the 120 gr. ball. tip should work on both , any experience on this would help.

A friend has had a 7-30 for years (Contender). He found that his Pistol barrel really likes the 120 B-Tip and has killed a number of deer with it. His 21" rifle barrel doesn't like anything in a 120 gr weight and he shoots 139 gr Hornady's.

I'll be interested to hear how long they cut the throat on your barrel. That is my complaint with the 2 Fox Ridge barrels I have. Sean
