i have an 540 gr Rhino solid bulllet in cal .510
does anybody know what the bullet weight will be
if i copy the bullet and make an bullet mould of it?

If the solid is bronze and you were to cast pure lead, bullet mass would be right around 760 grains. Harder alloys of course would be less, but not significantly so

I'm not a whiz at math, but the Spc Grav of lead is about 27% more than copper... and bronze can be about 80-98% copper. So, a lead bullet cast to the same form as your bronze bullet would weigh about 680 gr (or maybe a little less). To make it weigh the same as your bronze bullet, you'd have to reduce the mold cavity's length by about 1/4". But, this is hair splitting. What's important is that lead and brass/bronze/copper fly differently out of the same barrel whether they are of the same length or same weight. And terminal ballistics are just as different. Suggest you give your project a little more thought before spending bucks having a mold made. Perhaps Mr Smith on the LBT board (the next one down on this forum's listing) can tell you more.

By all means, look at the moulds already in production - there are probably 5 or 10 makers of moulds where you could find examples. At least that would give you an idea of other's experiences.

Rifle or pistol? Velocity? Rate of twist?
Flat base or gas-checked?
Punching paper or fur-lined critters?
