I would like some feed back on this rifle. Has any one received one of these, or rather bought one? Can one order it(guide gun) with ports?

Jim if you are talking about the marlin 1895 GG I'm not sure if they are still making them with the compensators or not. I picked mine up at a gun show. Some one the other day posted that he thought they had quit making them with the compensators but, i don't know for sure. You might
look around for the nearest gun show and just be lucky enough to find one. Besides the guide gun i have the cowboy model and i can sure tell the difference in them. The guy standing beside you can tell the difference
too. they make one hell of a noise, but you don't notice when you are shooting it. Sweet little guns. hope this helps Jim..........Joe

Joe
It is a 1895 RL, I don't know which model is a guide gun, I have a 1894p and its ported. I think you are correct they may have discontinued the option, however this rifle looks interesting and I was wondering if anyone had some experience before I jump in>

Jim,
I don't believe that Marlin offers ported guns anymore. :(   Too many complaints about noise and various particles being sprayed to either side of the shooter.
You might check with the Marlin website to see if the 480/475 has been released.
You might, also, check on the Marlim owners website to get some feedback.  I haven't seen any posts commenting on the 480 Marlin, so I am assuming that they aren't out yet
Best,
