In my speer loading manual #11 ( Yes I know it is old) It list a charge of 41.0 as a starting load for a 168 match bullet out of a "29 inch match barrel" giving a muz. vol of about 2581. this is very close to what I have found for the milt. match load but they use 42 grs.

In all my loading books that I have, I have only been able to find a few listing this powder and all but Speer list 42.0 grs being very close to a max load.
Now I know about starting low and working up loads for the components you are using.
does anyone have any insight to his load and powder? I would like to keel this as close to a milt. load as I can.

Useful loading range:
IMR-4895 From 35.0 grains to 45.0 grains

For a 168 in a military case I recommend 39-42 grains. Remember mil brass is thicker and if you are loading for a m-1 or m-14 I strongly recommend using it due to it's heavier construction. I run my loads of a barnes coated 168 at 42 grains for 2600 fps and it's all the speed it needs to reach out and touch something. That's in a heavy barrel m-14.

I will be shooting it out of a savage model 10 (pf-le2)
It is a heavy match barrel.
