Gung-Ho American
« on: May 02, 2004, 10:32:17 AM »
'Had a talk with a Cambodian man that I work with.  He's 40 years old, been here for 20.  'Has a son in Iraq who volunteered for infantry; wanted to fight the enemies of the US face-on.  He's for Bush, and anything the US Gov't says is just alright with him.  He's seen the other side; poverty, slavery, killing fields, and he said he'd "go" himself, if they'd take him.
I've heard similar views from VietNamese and Russian immigrants.  So, I suggest that any whiny, soft, "liberal" Americans who are so against just about anything the US does, talk to an immigrant.  They know how good we have it and what  it means to be an American!

Right on Shorty;
   We hear Liberals with their "blame America first" philosophy, contending how rotten our country really is...
   They even hold up the "European model' as some kind of ideal.
  It often takes a person like your friend, who has seen the other "Great Societies" to really appreciate how great the U.S.A. is!
   Is the U.S.A. perfect, certainly not, it is a man-made thing...but as governments go....it is leaps and bounds ahead of most others.
   I would rather have a hundred citizens like him than one of the whining Liberal "America Haters" that were, by accident, born here.

Most of the democratic's an the people that think they are so great. Are nothing more than Communist in my book. That are trying there best to bring this country to and end as we know it. No more gun's in this country and you'll see the end of any freedom you've ever had. I was hopping president bush was going to finish this war. But it doesn't look like it is going to happen now.Just cause the people won't back him up on it. I really hope Im wrong about this. How meany good men and wemen have died in the nam of freedom for this country. Since WW11  there hasen't  been one war that this country got in to that they seen to the end yet. Im a veteran and it make's me sick when this country pull's out befor the job is done. How meany people have payed the price of life. So some ungreatfull pice of skum can bitch about this great country the rest of use hold so dear to our heart's,

it is a sad fact that many of this country's best have died in defense of it (and the rest of the free world); cowards stay behind and run their mouths.   check out the moron by the name of 'crossbow' under the thread of "the real reason for the war".  it will make your blood boil.   i wonder what the world would be like if the best had all lived and all the cowards went off to their cowardly death.   a better place no doubt.

Myron;
   Crossbow isn't one of this country's citizens...he claims he's English.
A lot of British folks that post here would disagree with him as strongly as  some of us do.
   I tried to discuss with him for a while, but finally decided to write him off as a certified moron.

i like to believe that everyone has a bad day now and then.  but i have to say i agree with you whole-heartedly about that.
  the point you raise about immigrants is very real.   problem with alot of folks is 1. they dont know anything other than what they have read.  2.  they have never had it rough.  3.  they are selfish.
   it is sad that they have the greatest gifts this world has to offer and they can only use it to try to defile the ones who provide those very freedoms.

Shorty;
  Your lead line says, "Gung Ho American"....

  My grandson has just recently graduated from Marine Corps boot camp at Parris Island.
   He says that if one is not a "Gung Ho American", they will never make it there....  I say ..three cheers for the Marines!

BTW...when I spoke of Crossbow, I may have confused some...see spouts by him under my thread "Ghosts of the Spanish Conquistadores".
