Help bought a marlin .410 in pawn shop serial number starts with KN can a barrel be fitted to it from H&R i understand marlin bought them .Cant seem to get factory always busy when I call its a H&R design but marlin stamped on the barrel are these common ? looking to put 20 guage barrel on it any help would be appreciated

you are going to have to get ahold of the company to find out. i would think they would, it came from the same factory, and yes its the very same gun!!!!! i have seen a couple myself, i got a feeling it was a way to make there "own" single shot guns. but they did not sell to good from what i remember, and they just went away. but by all rights yes they should be able to be fitted with like any other NEF/H&R. you can try getting info by sending them email at

a KN serial number would indicate a gun that was manufactured in 1999. That being so, yes you can have another barrel fitted to. It does however require factory authorization to do it. Keep trying until you get them, I have never had a problem getting them on the phone (?). I am not a betting man but I would put a couple of bucks on the factory being willing to add a barrel to that frame. Good luck....<><.... :grin: ERROR-ERROR-ERROR-SORRY!!! Don't know where my head was (oops, maybe I do, let me bend over and look again!) I had a false thought in my drafty old head when I read the first post. For some reason I envisioned an H&R receiver carrying a barrel marked Marlin. I then looked at the second letter of the serial number prefix, "N", and leapt to the false assumption it was an H&R serial number prefix indicating a 1999 manufacture date. So Sorry to all (and embarassed also, but I won't delete the post, I'll just learn to live with the embarrasment....<><.... :oops: :oops: :oops: :oops:

Factory reply barrel not stocked for this model go figure ?Well thanks anyway fellas gonna keep this little shooter for some tree rats and bunnys dont want to carry around my 870 .wounder if my local gun smith can put a 20 guage barrel on it for me there always one for sale on ebay

all i can say it what a bunch of jerks, they take the same barrels, they came from the same place. they are just trying to get you to buy another gun from them, i bet. some barrels will fit right on other receivers, others have to be fitted. and yes some guns smiths will fit them if you can get a barrel. it is not too hard to fit them. i have done a couple myself, but i know what i am doing, and if you don't, THEN DONT TRY IT!!!!!!!!! have someone do it that knows what they are doing.
