Drilling Shooters
« on: January 08, 2003, 02:18:25 PM »
It seems every firearm subject imaginable can be found on these forums, EXCEPT that of drillings.  Are there any drilling owners/users out there.  I have wanted to purchase one for some time to use as my all around turkey gun.  Have looked at the typical German 16 X 16 X 8.57 drillings, and even a few that have been rechambered for the .222 round.  It seems that a German WWII era drilling in good condition runs around $1,000 to $1,500 dollars.  The one rechambered for .222 was $1,500.00 and appeared to be in excellent condition.  I guess its collector value was hurt by the rechambering, but I want it for using.

I was even thinking of trading my 2nd generation 5 1/2" SAA in .45lc for a drilling of this type, if I found someone interested in doing a trade like this.

Any thoughts, opinions, suggestions, advise on the subject is welcome.

Thank you,
Mike
