I'm considering a Model 1000 for a project gun where I'll extend the tube and build a custom stock. Would like a 30" barrel if possible. I'm wondering if this is a decent and reliable shotgun for shooting cheap birdshot, Brenneke slugs, and high brass buckshot. Also wondering if tube extensions for the Model 300 will fit it.
Gunsamerica has a few actions under $200 without barrel or stock, which would be great if I could find a long barrel cheap. Other used specimens run for $250.
