When everything is pleasant and bright
And the things we do turn out just right,
We feel without question that God is real,
For, when we are happy, how good we feel...
But when the tides turn and gone is the song
And misfortune comes and our plans go wrong,
Doubt creeps in and we start to wonder
And our thoughts about God are torn asunder--
For we feel deserted in time of deep stress,
Without God's presence to assure us and bless...
And it is then when our senses are reeling
We realize clearly it's Faith and not Feeling--
For it takes Great Faith to patiently wait,

thats so true . The Bible tells us in Jer 17:9
9The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
KJV
The heart is defined in websters as , the seat of our emotions or feelings .
We can only trust in God's Word to guide us in our lives , and to live by it .

But is not the heart a vessel that holds ones life spirit
having it full of the Holy Spirit is not that our life’s merit.

Then knowing these deferent feelings of sadness, anger and sin
That the good of the great powerful holyspirit will begin..
That we have been given the power in ourselves not to be sad
But Come forth and help make times good not bad
He has shared and taught us by filling the heart with a decisive difference
We are to convey this Message of deliverance.

To always be there for troubled times
if your willing to take it and share it
and make it yours and mine.
To fill your heart with it the great spirit of love.
Choose Wisely of what you partake in your heart as it comes from above.
The vessel is refillable and the product is of your choice good or Bad.
The Heart is the path to your spirit and the map to your life happy and sad.

So what are you saying , that,we should live by our emotions and toss the word of God ? Or sould we live by Gods Word ?

:grin: by no means toss the the word of god
but you were givin feelings to know Good from bad
and you learn from lifes experience and feelings
god will deliver his message into your heart and you will feel it what
you do with it is up to you with his guidence just
like leadin a horse to water ya cant make it drink its has to
feel thirsty.Isnt this why small children are protected until reconing the word of god and knowing wright from wrong .

just my thoughts thats all

I lost a wife when she and i were 20 to a instant brain aneuryesum
without a warning and had a ten month old son at the time to take care of and the only thing that made me not loose it and get by was knowing that feeling of helplesness in my heart would be healed because i new the feeling before and im sure i will have more losses in the future but
god will be there to help me feel better like the other times

Heres some verses that might explain better what im trying to say.
Jer.17:9
9The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
KJV above all things , their is nothing more decietful.

Gen 6:5-6
5And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

6And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.
KJV

Prov 28:26
26He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.
KJV another words don't trust in your heart.

Jer 16:12
12And ye have done worse than your fathers; for, behold, ye walk every one after the imagination of his evil heart, that they may not hearken unto me:
KJV notice they don't follow God , by following what they thought was right {emotions} they didn't listen to what Gods Word said.

Mark 7:21-23
21For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,

22Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:

23All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.
KJV Look at the history of the children of israel they were given laws to follow , but they liked the way the egyptions served their gods so they trusted their emotions more than God, and built a golden calf to worship God , which he forbade . ex. 20:4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image , or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above , or that is in the earth beneath , or that is in the water under the earth.

I did and it was after i got myself right with
god and quit trying to replace what i had lost.
I didnt go looking for it to happen I put my mind
on raising my son wright and went back to work
the lord does do things in a mysterious way
I Met her while helping flood victims in fairbanks
about 5 years later and come to findout she had grown up as best childhood friends with my wife that had pased i didnt know this for about six moths after we had been dating.I sure am glad i didnt
go off the deep end and drink myself into a coma or something
I couldnt of hoped for better the way things turned out
we have four children and all is well.Yes i see what ya mean

i am dreadfully late on this discussion--but i just found it -and i am happy i did.
my personal take on this is that i cannot trust my emotions--except when to eat--wait i can't trust my emotions then-if you could only see my stomach-i can only trust what the lord has said he has done-you know the east to west thing--emotions,feelings are a scary issue for me. i know my heart--trust me when i ssay i know my heart. i trust the holy spirit when he directs me--but i often do what i want anyway. i know when i am in need of redirection but for me this is not feeling it is communication from the lord. splitting fine hairs here but there is a definite difference.

if we let the Holy Spirit lead us he will lead us into all truth , notice God's word is truth , we need to live according to the word of God .

John 16:13
13Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
