In my opinion Glock pistol's are the the most rugged, reliable and durable pistol's you can own. I have two, a model 22 and a model 27 both in 40 S&W.
I'm thinking about getting a 9mm. Maybe a model 17L (6 inch barrel) or a model 34 (5.3 inch barrel) for target shooting and plinking.
Now as far as Glock's go, they don't have any external safeties, which most "double action only" pistol's don't have external safeties anyways. I believe Glock started this trend!
I carry my pistol's loaded with one in the chamber all the time. I've never had any problems at all. Just remember one thing, when you unload your Glock you remove the magazine first then work the slide to empty the chamber while your finger is outside the trigger guard and the pistol is pointed in a safe direction! Do this every time with every firearm. Most accidents happen when the operator (you or me) remove the magazine and leave the chamber loaded, then someone pulls the trigger and someone gets hurt or worse someone gets killed! Don't let that happen. Its not the "pistol's" fault its the operators.
