Over the years I've owned Browning single shots, overunders, autoloaders, Remington bolt actions, and many Ruger revolvers.

As far as long guns go, it has all come down to :

NEF TRACKER II slug gun, plus 3 accessory barrels.
NEF Sportster 22LR
NEF Handi Rifle in 7mm-08
Plus an H&R Handi-Gun II in 357mag & 22Hornet

I know that's 4, but they ALL  can bring home the game.

Please note, these are NOT dream guns, I don't have to dream about them, I already have them!! Now I go about the business (and fun)  of using them for that which they were intended.

1)I'd still stick with the 12GA Ultra Slugger but I would probably upgrade the scope to a Bushnell Elite 4200 1.5-6x36.  95% light transmission along with the Rainguard coating make that one a winner.

2)I don't have a lot of experience with rifles because we cannot hunt with them during whitetail season so I am not qualified for this one.  I like my Ultra Varmint in 223 Rem.

3)TC G2 Contender in 44Rem Mag with a 14" barrel.  I would top it with a Burris 2x handgun scope.

I know these aren't all top dollar choices but these are choices that I am comfortable with.  I don't want a gun or scope that I am going to baby because they cost more than some of my cars did.

To cover all the bases; self defence plus what I hunt (Deer, Elk, Grouse, Ducks, Rabbits, & Turkey); I would use three (3) of many guns I have now:

Handgun:        Taurus® Mdl 617 357Mag
Rifle:              Marlin® Mdl 444SS  444Marlin
Shotgun:         Mossberg® Mdl 500 20GA

Caveat; if I were no longer hunting Elk then my rifle would be my Marlin® Mdl 336C in 30/30Winchester. And Yes; I hunt Turkeys with a 20GA (Use a Hastings® Extended Choke Tube).

well only 3. that may be very hard for me.

#1 a H&R ultra hunter in 30-06, with an added 243 win barrel for varmints

#2 remington sp-10 10ga for waterfowl/turkey

#3 a H&R tracker 1 smoothie, with an added 20ga barrel for buck/bird combo

These are guns i already do own, and i got to say i am very happy with them. i love my GP100 357 mag too, and i would have taken it if i had a forth slot.  does it count if i just say an SB2 receiver with one of every barrel that can be fitted to it???????

1. nef 12 Pardner 28" mod, given different loads you can do mice to moose, sparrow to goose.  There's not much I can't hunt with my 12 gauge pardner, it's light weight, easy to pack, simple, reliable, and perfect for extreme weather.

2. nef 22 mag sportster.  The 22 mag is great for small game to small preditors and varmints.  Of all the rifles in the safe the 22 mag is the most fun and puts alot of food on the table.

3. Colt peacemaker 22lr/22mag, used as a dispatch pistol and some squirells.

I have alot of other rifles, shotguns, pistols in the safe, but they just don't see near as much daylight as the above nef's and little colt.

One shotgun, one rifle & one handgun?!   Wow that's a tough one.

The shot gun is easy (for me anyway). I'll keep my synthetic stocked Mossberg 500 pump in 12 gauge with 28" vent rib barrel and 24" smooth bore slug barrel with rifle sites.  With an assortment of choke tubes it's accurate, reliable and  good for just about anything that walks or flies on this continent. :biggun:

For the one hand gun I would have to go with a 6" S&W or Ruger revolver in .357 magnum.  Magnums would take care of home and/or personal defence and inexpensive .38 wadcutters can be used for practice & plinking.

Now the rifle is the real toughy for me.  But since the Mossberg could handle my deer hunting I would almost lean toward keeping my modified Ruger 10/22 for small game hunting and just for the shear fun of cheap plinking.  :gun4:

Now please don't ask any more questions like this, they are too agenizing.

Assuming you are talking about dream guns. Sp 10 for water fowl.rifle choice would be a 12 ga ultra slug. Pistol would be any of the good servicable 1911 designs.if it was you can only keep 3 of your guns it would be very agonizing. I guess it would be the 16ga stevens double that was my uncles then my grand dad's,Other grand dad's old singe shot .22 and my uncles old nickle plated top break S&W.38. Knowing all that I know now starting with nothing the choice would be topper deluxe classic,20ga ultra,1911.
PROUD REDNECK CONSERVATIVE

I'd much rather be remembered for being a great shot than having the most expensive gun
