Reduced load for .303
« on: May 08, 2004, 08:31:32 PM »
Hi y'all.
Just wondering if anyone has a good reduced load for a .303?
I was thinking of giving a 180 grain slug about 1600 fps.
Has anyone tried the 125 grainers? I would have thought the standard twist rate would be too fast.
I'm just after something for plinking that does'nt make too much fuss.
I've just scored a Martini Enfield in good shape... I've always wanted one of those blighters!
Cheers,
Gaz.
Ya'll take it easy, hear.

My old No1 Mk111 which was sporterized when I acquired it in 1967 when I was in New Zealand, likes the Hornady 123 grain SP in .310 diameter. I use 48.3 grains of Reloader 15. Amazingly my best group with this load in this old action was a 5 shot .75" group.
