45-70 barrel value?? SOLD!! THANKS
« on: May 09, 2004, 04:26:13 AM »
i got a 22inch handi barrel in 45-70 im thinking abt trying to sell.
it has had the screw where the rear sight mounts broken off flush with the barrel, could be pretty easily removed. i also installed the williams peep sight normally found on the buff classic. the barrel is in good shape and has only been fired abt 200 times. i sent the gun off to h&r to have a .243 barrel installed and since i already have a buff classic in 45-70 i dont see my self using this barrel anymore.
i was thinking abt asking 60 bucks and i will take care of the shipping.
is that a reasonable price for this ??
would there be any interest in it??
yall let me know
thanks,
sureshot

Sorry Guys wasn't me, If you remember I gave up my possibly 2nd place in deference to Deadeye when he said he sent a message before Marv and I and took him at his word. Check the original posts at the beginning of this thread. And handirifle, I hope it's not sourgrapes that I got the .35 Whelen barrel fair and square thats causing you to falsely accuse me of stepping in front of anyone to get this barrel  :( . Lets ask sureshot2040 where it went, if it went anywhere. Only he (and whoever got it, if it was sold) knows for sure now. My feeling is he saw the many offers and decided to keep it himself or sell it for more to someone else. Of course it is his barrel and he can do anything he wants with it. OK now sureshot, clear this up...what happened to the barrel, it really doesn't matter just let us know....<><....

Well the excavator is here and working on the lot next to us that we sold. They are working on a new foundation and a couple of weeks ago I promised my wife I would move some of her flowers from the old lot before they got run over, now it's time to do it or suffer forever. After all I did tell her I would do it for her and it pains me to see her out there alone with a shovel and wheelbarrow while I sit here on the computer. Besides, she's been very good to me about my growing addiction the these little single shots!!!....<><....

:D  MSP Ret, if it were me I'd fertilize those flowers a little when I planted them.  And I would have to drive past an outdoor outfitter store, a pawn shop, and a gun shop to get the best priced fertilizer in town that just happens to be all the way across town.

Just had my second anniversary, but I'm a quick learner   .

Planning on getting a new gun safe next year to replace my old one (too small).  The old one will go to the garage, I'll pile a bunch of stuff on top of it and beside it, maybe a lawn mower infront of it.  The advertised use for it will be "safe storage for chemicals", so the future kids don't get into antifreeze, paint, rat poison, etc.  And it'll be for "migrating" the occasional new rifle, shotgun, or pistol into the house....     .

Yeah, you've got to have that "transition zone" to get new acquisitions into the house.

"Where'd that gun come from?"  Oh honey, this guns been in the gun safe out in the garage for a long time......
