why it is that when you start shooting for groups on those funny little 3 x 5 cards with an "X" on 'em that all the work you've done for a year is suddenly useless??????

So here's what ya do.  Shoot one of those groups onto an unsuspecting 8x11 target, cut a nice 3x5 square out around the group and draw a nice 'X' in the middle of it.  Nobody will be the wiser.... oops... that was supposed to be a PM.

Dang it all

I've actually considered that, have just been concerned that my target would be disqualified. However, if things remain unchanged from today, it won't matter anyway. What makes that horribly funny Haywire is that immediately prior to shooting on the funny little 3x5 white cards, i was warming up on some 8.5x11 card stock I have and managed a group using CAST of all things from my 357 Max that had 4 touching!!!!! wouldn't have done more than placed, the fifth shot made the group about 2", but it was sure nice to see that.....glad I did, as that was as good as it got today and time is now running short.

Try taping a 3x5 card to the back of your standard card. If you get a good group you'll have your entry!

i dont have a clue why it was set up like this.i plan on sending some cards in plus a group shot on something else.i think it would be alright to send in any group you shot as long as its easy to see and measure.

I shot one of mine on rainy day and a scrap of Tyvek for the target so it would be waterproof.  I hope that doesn't disqualifyme

It's sure true that as soon as you try to put it on the little card, it just all goes to blazes, for me anyway.

Jeff, I set it up like that because it is easier to keep track of a bunch of 3X5 cards on my desk than it is to keep track of a bunch of different size and shape targets.

THAT BEING SAID.....

I don't care what you shoot it on.  Just shoot it

I can't imagine what it would take to get disqualified from this competition.  There's just not that many rules

OK guys, Wlscott has been good enough to bend the rules to allow any size target stock, how about making it nice for him and after shooting on that 43.765" x 13.756"  old odd size pice of paper or whatever you are using just cut it down into a 3x5" card. Easier to mail and I'm sure it will help him out with the measuring and filing....<><....

Thats what I did...I shot everything into one target....Started with the 45-70...357 and max and then the 308 and 30-30 and the 223...they all went into the one hole made by the 45-70 so I only had to cut out one card and saved on postage too!!
