Rossi Rifles

Does anyone here have any experience with these Rossi single shot rifles? I bought a combo 20/223 for my grandson to shoot and he loves it. I must admit I enjoy shooting it also, even though I am a confirmed NEF fan. I was wondering about whether I might need to change my thinking a little and give the rossi 308 a try.

gwhilikerz,
I have the same ".223/20 Matched Pair" combo and after a false start with an errant Tasco scope it is shooting well with a Bushnell 3X9-40. I am also interested in other calibers (.308 is one). I know that they are working on a barrel program ala NEF/H&R. It is projected to start in September (unfortunately close for hunting season). Check out their web site www.rossiusa.com .

kjeff I was looking at the site you posted above. Do you or anyone happen to know if there is an apperature sight available for these rifles?
For a pack rifle I prefere it to either a scope or open sight. Thanks.POW

Peep sight off a TC contender should fit, because the Rossi's take the Contender scope mount.

I have one of their single shot rifles in stainless steel 357 magnum, this is my boat/truck gun. In a small caliber I think they are great since the action is proportionately smaller, and lighter (by 1.5 pounds!) than the NEF, very nicely ballanced, and decent quality. I'm happy with mine.   The Williams WGRS for the Contender will fit though you may have to go to a higher front sight which might be a problem. http://www.brownells.com/aspx/NS/store/ProductDetail.aspx?p=16154
I installed a factory Contender sight on my rifle, bought it on ebay for 5 bucks.
