just got my first sp 101  in 9 mm.  no book came with it, am guessing use the clips like a speed loader??

I have a sp101 in 9mm.

you use the full moon clips to hold the shells in the cylinder. with a speed loader you remove it before firing  with the full moon clips you leave them in place. however you can use the shells with out the full moon clip  you will need something to push the fired brass out.

If I where you I would get a few extra clips and keep them put away. ruger only has a very small run on them every few years so they are somewhat hard to get.

when you take the grips off be careful. their is a little rod in it. this rod is used to hold the main spring in place when you are taking the gun apart.

thx for the information, the gun came used with about 10 clips in the box, but with no manual.  will hit rugar web site for a copy. came with nice rubber grips, dont forsee taking them off anytime soome, but ty again  for you reply
