I just got my second Colt .45acp.  It's the 1911A1 Compact model.  What is the difference between it and the officers model?

I just came from there.  Was there last night too.  Can't see to find what I'm looking for. :x

Would like info on manufacture dates too.  Everything I've found online to this point stops in 1981 for manufacture date.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
