Well, it certainly isn't my best, but that's what you get when you put stuff off.... After getting home from work yesterday I waited until a shower rolled through and while it was sprinkling intermitantly I got out, set up the target at 50 yards, sat on my picnic table, dropped the legs on the harris BR bipod, and sighted in the newly mounted 3-9x40mm Bushnell Banner circle-x muzzleloader scope (moved the elite 3200 to my weatherby). After 4 shots to roughly set the scope I taped up a card over the target and went to work, hastily shooting 5 shots into a card. Unsatisfied I shot another card, hastily, knowing it would start raining at any second. The wind was swirling, it was dark, I had a cover over the target so it wouldn't get wet and it was a dark target to see. After the third card it started to rain and I hurried back in the house. On each card I had one shot that felt bad as I pulled the trigger, too rushed, and each time it was a flyer.... Still, under the circumstances, the groups weren't horrible I guess.
But next time I will take out the bags, no wind, alot more light, no precipitation, and most importantly I won't be rushing my shots. My groups should really shrink! Look out DJ!
It's raining again now, and probably will continue, so I'll mail this card in today as soon as I get the addr from wlscott. I didn't realize how much fun shooting these little 3x5 cards is, I'm going to stop spending money on targets and just shoot the wife's 3x5 note cards left over from college.
later,
