Lubricated bullets
« on: May 17, 2004, 05:13:39 PM »
I like PMC ScoreMaster ammunition but it is not lubricated and leds the barrel up pretty quick, is there any lubricants commercial or home remedies that you would share with me to lubricate my own ammunition.

If you know of such a product  or remedy please let me know.

Thank You

mgann,
If the PMC leads your barrel too much, why not try some different ammo?
With all the different brands and types of 22 RF ammo around there has to be one that will shoot as good as the PMC and not lead  the barrel.
Best,
TnNuc
PS: Try some Wolfe Match ammo.  It's not very expensive, and I've seen it shoot as well as some of the $10/box stuff.

TnNuc has given good advice. Your best chance, by far, of getting really accurate ammunition for around $2.50 a box is still Wolf MT. Self-lubing bullets sounds like a big pain in the neck to me but if you really want to give it a try go to www.benchrest.com, rimfire benchrest forum, and check out the thread titled "Damn that Wolf ME..."

Some Silhouette shooters were using Liquid ALOX.  I personally have not tried it, but some long-time shooters were the ones using it.  I saw some here at :
