I am kinda new so please bair with me, anyone know where I can get a .223 or 22-250 or 6mm barrel I have a Survivor .410/45 colt and I allso have a 30/30 but I am in canada and it is very hard to find such stuff and I dont want to send it back to them to have them fit a few barrels or any one selling any? thoughts ideas? any thing thanks.

What I understand it is very legaly
to ship barrels and fire arms across the border. I don.t know what to tell you. But there is a couple people on here from Can. may be they can help. Good luck Marv.

I know that it is leaga but its all the red tape that you have to go through to ship it and then it could get held up at the boarder I have herd horry stories about people that have done it I would just love to find a few good used ones

Sorry mOnkey1, but I have a slight twinge of smart ass going today and can't resist.....You should move to a gun friendly nation......Look around for a post my Fred M., he live in Canada, and may be able to help you. He is quite knowedgable about arms and such. (Please forgive my smartassness, I am also known for being able to take it too, so if you must, I opened the door and probably deserve it.) H&R has dealers in BC, would that be an option? On another note, barrels must be fitted at the factory for proper fit, function and safety, I would not recommend buying a barrel from an individual and attempting to use it without proper fitting.

Monkey 1.
This is a problem
1. H&R I believe does not sell barrels only. The factory will fit one to a suitable action for you. Contact Customer Service and get the info on Canada maybe they have a way of doing it easy through a distributer.

2. I don't know where you would find a barrel only in Canada. You have to advertise in the Gun Runner or some other National publicatio like the Canada's Outdoor Sportsmanor or the Canadian Firearms Journal.

Go to the Accurate Reloading Site they have a Canadian Hunting Section, ask there. Graybird is blocking the url.

3, Dealers in the US can ship only to people with an imprt licence from Ottawa. The wait is a pain. I am waiting for an import licence for a new BR action. Its beeen sitting in the US for some time.

4. The best way is to deal with a Canadian Customs Broker they get fast access and service from Ottawa, but charge quite a bit of money.
For this you need an FAC and a registration certificate. Simple and easy ways are gone with the Todo bird.

5. Go to a dealer and buy another Handi of your choice or have him do the ordering and send/receive the barrels. Where do you live in Canada.

well fred I am in Ontario and I think that I am just going to try and order a handy with like a .223 and 308 I am sure that the suvivor that I have will take them I have a 30/30 barrel for it as well as the .410/45 that it cam with I know that the .223 will be no prob but I will have to find out if the fame is ok for the high cals take care EH!

The above B.S. is just sad....( an B.S. is exactly what it is! :x ) just so very sad......how could you guys let yourselves get into this mess? Makes me scarred as they are trying daily to do the same things here.......and if we become complaceent they will and it will be OUR FAULT that it happened!! Look whats happening in the Peoples Republic of Massachusets and Kalifornia..Now what did I do with my tin-foil hat? :shock: Good luck monkey 1 ...

The requirement for an import licence is not a Canadian one.
It is a US requirement together with an export licence issued in Washington DC. Shippers in the US are not allowed to ship many gun related items to Canada without an US export and a Canadian import licence. As long as you have a Canadian firearm aquisition Certificate you can buy any legal firearm you wish and import it. It is then registered in Canada or you can pre-register it before you receive it. If I'm sending my Pardner back to NEF/H&R without the barrel is it not a Non-Operational Firearm?

Shouldn't that make it easier to ship it across the border?

How do Canadians deal with NEF/H&R if there is a warranty/repair issue?
