Doctor sight
« on: May 20, 2004, 01:30:37 AM »
I recently put a DoctorSight, heads up display red dot on my S/W M41 pistol.  Sight wieghs 25 grams and is low and to the rear as it replaces the original rear sight.

This is a great red dot sight, I will be using it on other handguns for sure.

The base for these is specific for each gun and there are not that many available (imo).  I had to smith on a Ruger base to make it fit my M41.

Any body else use this red dot?

Yep. I use one. It's OK. I prefer a tube sight. Be sure to loc-tite the sight and base. Be sure to change the battery every six months or so because if you do it at a match, you will have to sight-in again. It returns close to original point of aim, but not close enough.  The only advantage seems to be looks.  I wouldn't buy another.
