7mm Hornady A-Max

I just got my first box of 162gr A-Max, says 1 in 8" twist on the box.
Greenhill formula suggests about 1 in 8.6"
Has anybody tried these in a 1 in 10" Handi?
My 26" 280 should be able to push them at least 2800 if need be.

Only one way to find out. It's a pretty long bullet but there's a decent chance it'll stabilize. Everybody shooting any 7mm should try the Speer 115 HP. It's just spooky accurate in most guns. Cheap, too. Every 7mm write up in Ken Waters' "Pet Loads" mentions its accuracy.

I called Hornady today. The guy I talked to said I should be OK at 3000fps or faster, but 2800 would be pretty iffy. It works great in 7mm STW at 1 in 10", but those guys are probably shooting 3200fps.
