Charlie,
I've had real good performance from the Lyman 311291 170 grain RN in .30-30, 300 Savage, .30-40, 308, .30-06, etc.
Lee, Ohaus (RCBS) and several others make similar designs. All of these have a .30 caliber bore-riding forward part of the bullet which helps align the bullet in the chamber throat and gives best accuracy.
I would go with the 0.2995" diameter boreriding bullets. You will find that as-cast diameters differ slightly from one alloy to another. In that M94 Winchester, almost all boreriding type bullets should give you very good accuracy.
I've seldom had good results from pointy or "spitzer" type cast bullets in .30 caliber.
