204 Ruger
« on: May 23, 2004, 12:23:31 PM »
Ok guys and gals

I have always wanted a real heavy 17 rem in an encore barrel (had one in a 21" contender) so I could see my own shots hit.  Well the question is...... will a heavy barreled 204 ruger do the same thing or will it move enough at the shot to loose site picture??  Some one out there has to have one and know the answer.

Thanks
Hogslayer
ALWAYS. There is the one voice (out of 10) in my head that says "Don't shoot him.  YET!!

Is it true that you can't reload for the .204 (yet)?

It is my understanding that all components are available except for the "special" powder that Hornady is using to achieve the stated velocity.  Don't know if/when it will be released.  I haven't tried to get any but, I read that somewhere.  GOOD SHOOTIN', Walt  :-)

Hodgdon lists loads for the .204 on their website ..............of course none of them approach the levels they say they can get with the factory loads.
