millett sight for m15
« on: May 25, 2004, 03:15:38 PM »
does anyone have a millett rear sight on their small frame DW? I just ordered one and I am hoping it will be an improvement over the rather crude and aggravating "floating" sight that comes on the gun. If anyone has feedback regarding the utility of the millett sight for target shooting I'd appreciate hearing your report. regards. lawboy.

Well I don't have one on my DW(YET) I do have a millet on my Ruger Blackhawk 44 and have seen them on a couple of 45s they always have been of decent quality and i like the one on my 44 much better  than the factory Ruger sight. wish i could afford to replace all my blackhawks sights with them. I will be doing the same as you some day when cash allows and replace the sight on my DW with one its a good sight i highly recommend it.

Nice H&K. I've always wanted one of those myself. I got the series 100 target model sans white ouline around the U notch.
I put it on the gun today and sighted in at the 50 foot range. Fantastic! the gun is shooting groups at least 25% smaller than with the factory sight. I've done nothing but change the sights! I happy to say the least.

So you just changed the rear sight and are you using regualar or partridge front sight?
I gotta get me some better sights for my DW as It's the best shooting revolver I ever shot, Very Nice!!
I'd bet the sights help as much as the Hogue Grips.

lawboy what was the part# of the sight you got from that sight?
I couldn't find any listing for a Dan Wesson 15-2.
I have seen them on Millett's Webpage though.
Just lookin for a Better price.
And the H&K P7M8 is my new carry gun, It's a refurb P7 as you can tell by the brown/plum slide and mill mark in the slide.
Check out the IWB Alessi Holster I scored + 2 extra magazines..

Are you using the standard front sight or an undercut partridge or a Millet front?
Is the rear opening square or U shaped?
Thanks lawboy 8)

I am using the factory front blade. the millett sight is designed for use with the factory front blade. I did see the millett front blades but see no reason to get one. The millett rear sight has a square notch. It is not a "u" shape. I got the one without the white outline. Regards
