I have only one gun that shoots them well.I shoot the hollow points.I use them [and this gun ] mainly for ground squirels. They dig under my driveway and chew my phone lines. After about the third time we had the phone co repair guy out, the wife sugested that I shoot them.[first time shes ever approved of my shooting.] The last box of ammo I started keeping track of misses. At this time theres 16 left in the box and 5 misses marked on the lid.that makes 29 dead .Not bad for just my front drive. I have a solid porch rail to shoot from and only can safley shoot 40 yds[into a dirt bank.]I havent been shooting much lately, because the grass is too long. But thats about to change. its time to mow down the weeds before fire season.

hoghunter2,

I use the hollow(penta) point Stingers in all my .22lr rifles when hunting.  I use them for tree squirrels, rabbits(brush bunnies where safe) and other critter I would use a rimfire on.  They are one of the more accurate cartridges in my rifles.  Lawdog

I have had just the opposite experiance with Stingers as Lawdog. I have never had a rifle that shoots them well enough to hunt rabbits with. We are currently hunting with Velocitors. I get sub 1" groups at 25 yards in my daughter's 10/22, and they are devastating on rabbits. Head shots only.

You guys could always go with the Green Moutain "stinger chambered barrel" for that 10/22 I might see about buying one soon as I get all my other gun projects complete

I use stingers in my Ruger MK II Standard for coyotes, and fox here in the hardwoods of Kentucky. A lot of people have trouble with the hyper velocities spreading out of pattern but not me in in the above stated pistol, I do have a govt. model Ruger and it shoots em like crap...I have also taken my share of rabbits and tree rats also...not too long ago I shot a yote right at 64 yards with my Ruger MKII 4 3/4" Standard with a CCI Stinger and other than turning a few quick circles he dropped like a fly. I have only used hollow points myself but I have been using them for YEARS.

The only other 22 I hunt with is the Remington 22 Target and I use these when I am strictly hunting small game only...these have very minimum, if any, shock/meat damage

I don't know why CCI even came out with Velocitors when they already had a good high velocity round available for cheaper(CCI Mini-Mags)my  :money:
