I went to my favorite  store today and saw a 10/22 that looked like rifle and yes it was a Rugar! It looks like a T/C auto loader. Needless to say its in lay-away for now didn't quite have the funds to buy for now. Has anyone bought one of Rugar's new style10/22?

DAD,

I just bought a 10/22 22 Ruger at Wall Mart that might ber the same model that you have.

Mine has a standard size -- nearly 14 inch LOP -- wood stock and a 22 inch regular -- non-bull-- ss barrel.

I have looked it over closely at home and am a bit PO-ed at the ourageous, over 8 lb, pull but otherwise pleased. Why Ruger would shove sonmething like that out the door... Grrr!!!

The scoped gun -- with a 4x full size deer scope -- weighs 7.4 lbs. The blance is nice and it feels like a "real rifle" in your hands. I recently sold a 22/10 carbine that was too toy-like. I believe in plinking with a rifle close to my hunitng rifles in heft and length.

I find the bolt release clumsy and I will probably change that to  an aftermarket rig when I have the trigger work/replacement done.

I have not bothered to fire it with that ugly trigger but the crabine shot nicely and I would expect no less, once it has a crisp 3lb trigger.

Look ou
t squirrels..
Good luck with yours.

I do believe that the one at Wal-mart is the one that Ruger makes only for Wal-Mart.
