Wish I owned one? Or better yet a stainless one! Excellent 44 magnum revolver.

Stronger and more durable than a Smith & Wesson.  Better looking and more accurate than a Ruger.

The down side is that most people are not aware of the good points so they are weak on resale value in some parts of the country.  But this means you can find a bargin in a used one.

If you haven't bought it yet buy it! I have a 744 Monson with 4",6"+8" barrels this one is a keeper. I've had different 44 mags in the past years but, the DW is the best over all.     Hippie

I HAVE HAD A COUPLE OF 44 MAGS AND I CURRENTLY HAVE A STAINSESS 8 INCH 44 WITH A VH BARREL SHROUD I LOVE IT. I DEER HUND AND HOG HUNT WITH IT. I ONLY WISH I COULD FIND A VH STAINLESS BARRELL AND SHROUD FOR THE ONE I HAVE. I HOPE THIS HELPS

I have been looking at a ported .44 at an area shop, but they are asking $495 for it and I know that is to high.  It has the barrrel changing tool with it and the gap guage but nothing else.  I recently bought a .357 SuperMag with two six and an eight inch barrel for quite a bit less.  I really want a .44, but can't bring myelf to pay that much for it.

What experience have you had with the ported barrels.  Do they work in DW's?  I don't mind the extra cleaning chore, but want them to pay me back with effectiveness.  I may try to make an offer on this piece in a few days.  There is a FA in .41 right beside it.  Leupold scope.  Perfect condition.  Field grade.  $1195.  If I had the moneythat would come home with me.  SWEET!

Have one, love it, and don't know any 44 I would rather have at any price.  I have actually owned several over the last 20 years, and they were all great.  I have been trying to control my jealousy over the good deal the Mayor got on the 357 Supermag.

I DEER HUNT WITH A SCOPED 744 WITH AN 8" BARREL. DON'T REALLY SEE A NEED FOR PORTING. BUT I GUESS EVERYONES GOT AN OPINION ON THAT.

I bought one this spring. It is the most accurate and best shooting revolver I've owned. I'm shooting 320 gr max loads and while they have a stout recoil, the gun is still comfortable to shoot.  I'm considering getting another in .22 for my girlfriend.

I own 2 stainless DW revolvers.  I use the 44 with 10" VH for hunting whitetail and find it to be adequate for any large game within a 100 yards.  I have an optional 6" to carry sometimes.  I handload and use heavy bullets, 240gr. HP and 280gr. FMJ depending on the need.  I use a 357 with an 8" and 4" barrels.  I began hunting with a Ruger Blackhawk with a 7" barrel nearly 40 years ago, but traded for the Dan Wesson in 1982.  For me, it is the ideal revolver and when I first saw the 44 in its 10' configuration, all I could say is, WOW!  After more than 20 years, I can still say, WOW!

Hello all,
Iv'e had a P15 Pistol Pack since 1977, and two stainless 715, all in 357 magnum, and I think they are great. :-D  :-D  :-D

My new to me DW is a 744 stainless w/9.5" barrel HV :)

I bought it used off of Gunbroker two weeks ago and was only able to shoot it over this last weekend because I had to have a new barrel nut and wrench. It shoots good so far

I e-mailed Genny and asked her about the new revolvers, this is her responce.

"You can purchase revolvers by calling CZ-USA in Kansas City.  There number is 1-800-955-4486.  They do not have them in stock at this time.  They should be getting more from us.  I'm not sure what orders they have already for them though.  You will have to contact them to purchase a revolver.  Thank you for contacting Dan Wesson Firearms.
