I am the guy with the spare $1000.00.   Would it be worth spending a few extra bucks to get the above gun?

I hear great things about Baer...are they that much better than say a Kimber or SW1911 adjustable?

In a word, yes. I have a Les Baer that is stone dead accurate. I had 2 FTFs in the first 50 rounds. Since then it has functioned flawless. Super smooth and light trigger. I got the Bo-Mar adjustable melded in rear sight and if I had it to do over, I'd go with the Novak fixed sight. The Les Baer guns are CNC machined to very tight tolerances. Every part fits perfect, no slop or binding.  I've owned or fired about every brand of 1911 and must say the Baer is the best I've ever seen.

Absolutely worth it! My Concept VI is the most accurate, reliable 1911 I've ever experienced; and, it has the best trigger. It has been super reliable with every type of ammo and mag. for well over 1000 rds. I would also point out the comparison to Wilson & Brown prices- looking at it that way Baer is a bargain!  :D

It depends on whether you're going to use it. I have a $1300 gun, a shotgun, and for me it was definitely worth it. I use it frequently, and I enjoy using it.  I desire no other shotguns, and will probably have this gun the rest of my life.  If I had it but did not use it, it would have been a waste of money.

If YOU like it - then it's worth it!  As far as production guns go, the Les Baers are at the top of the heap.

Thanks all for the responses.  My only concern is the warranty on the gun.  I have read some horror stories about customer service from Baer.

My dealer was actually leaning me to the Springfield Trophy match because of the excellent customer service and life time warranty...any thoughts???

Get the Baer, and perhaps a different dealer.  Kimber and Springfield are competitors. Baer and Springfield are in a different class. Compare  Baer with Wilson, or some other top maker.

Testamony:  Had a Springfield Trophy Match for 3 years - had trouble with the sights - tried everything, 6 attempted fixes.  Told Springfield that had I know then what I know now, would have spent $300 more and bought a Springfield TRP.  They said, how about and even trade?  That's right, trade a 3 year old Trophy Match for a new TRP - they did just that and I'm very pleased with the TRP.  Adjustable sights on a 1911 seems strange to me now.

Check these out if you want to spend more than $1,000.

If I had the need for something beyond my Kimber Pro CDP and Springfield TRP, I would contact Chris Vursels at H&H Indoor Range in Oklahoma City, OK and have him build me a custom 1911 using Caspian Frame and Slide and other parts, he and I would settle on.
