loads for .57 Snider Enfield
« on: June 01, 2004, 04:26:37 AM »
One of the members of our club has an odd way of loading his .57 Snider
He pushes the bullet up the barrel just the length of the case. He then primes the case with a home-made tool, pours in a .308 Win. case full of black powder, then some kapoc to hold the powder back in the case. He inserts the case in the gun and fires it. His accuracy is very good.
The problem is, I have been told that this method can create dangerous pressures. Before I try it, I would like to have some advise from people who know a lot more about reloading than I do.

Go to the British Guns web site at www.britishguns.net and post your question on their Snider Enfield forum, although there has already been many postings their about loading for the Snider.
